Writer for The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson!
As an early teen, Randy Kagan was
uprooted from his native Cleveland, Ohio when his family
relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona. Unlike New York, Boston or
Chicago, everything in central Arizona seemed out of place to
Randy. Planned communities, golf courses and water parks were
literally carved out of the lush Sonoran desert. It was during
these youthful southwestern years that Randy's unique comic
point of view began.
Randy's comedy has been described as intelligent and off the
cuff. The Hollywood Reporter has called his act "a
refreshing change from old jokes and airplane stories."
After migrating to Los Angeles, Randy became a regular at the
Hollywood Improv. Executives from MTV saw him there and he was
quickly hired as the new correspondent for that network's The
Big Picture. Free to "just go," Randy's reputation for
fearless interviews and off-the-cuff ad libs came into its own.
He soon made appearances on In Living Color and
Weekly World News, where he hosted several man-on-the-street
segments. Randy performed the Gator Growl with Gary Shandling
and Dennis Miller. Stand-up showcases included Comic Strip
Live, The Dennis Miller Show, VH1 Stand Up
Spotlight, Late Night with Craig Kilborne, and comedy
clubs and colleges across the country and abroad.
